Junior Merit Membership Program
"The mission of Contra Costa Country Club's Junior Merit Membership is to further develop and advance golf in the local area by providing an annual membership to a limited number of qualified non-club members, who might not otherwise have such an occasion to advance their golf and life skills. Prospective Junior Merit members are recruited from schools in the surrounding area and must show good character, initiative and success in school, and have a certain economic need. Applicants submit a resume including their academic record, personal goals, golf accomplishments and letters of recommendation. A selection committee will then interview each candidate and up to four deserving junior golfers are awarded a Junior Merit scholarship that lasts one year.
The program has been wildly successful - our Junior Merits have been a credit to themselves and our club. They enjoy practicing and playing our course but have also given back by volunteering to help in our club's junior camps, clinics and other special events. Contra Costa Country Club is proud to sponsor this program."
